Brief Description about the Project:

  • This study is collaboration between the University of California San Francisco and St. John’s Research Institute, funded by the US National Institute of Mental Health. This cluster RCT is designed to implement and evaluate an intervention to primary health centres on outcomes in patients dually diagnosed with mental illness and cardiovascular disease/diabetes in 50 Primary Health Clinics in rural Karnataka.

Job Responsibilities:

  • To perform safe blood collection for all participants and prepare samples to be sent for testing
  • To conduct ECG for all participants

Specific Activities:

  • Travel anywhere within the district to Primary Health Centres
  • Scheduling follow-up visits
  • Meeting study participants to perform safe blood collection
  • Preparing samples to be sent for testing
  • Performing ECG for all study participants

Key Skills:

  • Demonstrated knowledge / interest in phlebotomy
  • Demonstrated knowledge / interest in rural health
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • Ability to maintain records
