Brief Description about the Project:

  • Medical Informatics is that branch of medicine that integrates biomedical medical knowledge with the science of information technology. The projects undertaken at the Division of Medical Informatics make use of the existing tools of Informatics to drive medical education, health systems research and healthcare innovation for improving healthcare outcomes with meaningful use of data.

Core Responsibilities:

The candidate should work in the domain of Medical Research, Education and Training.

  • Research - To be involved in literature searches for evidence based content / information and participate in ongoing training and research projects
  • For studies assigned, co-ordinate with the project staff in data collection, data entry and data management. Ensure adherence to protocol, quality control and project timelines. Ensure confidentiality of the proprietary information shared
  • Participate with the project team to organize, coordinate, train and evaluate online teaching and training programs
  • Ensure documentation of project-related work processes, training material, assigned activities and project completion status
  • Maintain flexible work schedule (overtime) to complete project delivery
  • Resolve any work-related issues in coordination with the respective experts

Key Skills:

  • Should have comprehensive knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Should have a flair for scientific writing, good communication and creative presentation skills
  • Should have medical domain-specific knowledge and be interested to work on projects involving use of technology and its use in healthcare
  • Should have the skill and experience of performing medical literature research from valid and reliable medical databases
  • Should have an experience in writing research paper for publications
  • Additional expertise / knowledge with certification on programming skill and analytical skill will be of added advantage
  • Prior work experience in the use of technology, in configuration, testing, implementation or training for a medical research / healthcare IT project would be preferred

Specific Activities:

  • Will have to work on assigned Informatics projects / research study as per guidelines provided, maintain quality of deliverables and work towards project timelines
  • Will have to maintain documentation related to day-to-day activities, assignments, work allocated-progress-completion status and report to the Project Manager on a daily basis regarding work
  • Will be involved in teaching, training, scheduling, motivation, supervision and evaluation of delegated staff / trainees
  • Will be involved in teaching/training sessions for courses, workshops or conferences within or outside the institution, related to the assigned work and domain of expertise
  • Collaborate with various teams in collating, assisting, managing and further developing the eLearning platform at St. John’s
  • Will be involved in searching, writing and applying for National / International grants that are in line with the themes of the Division
  • Will be involved in writing research paper for publications and poster presentations
  • May be called upon to assume responsibilities and undertake specific activities not stated above, but within the mandate of this job, based on greater clarity of the requirement that emerges with time and associated with any revision of the Institute/Project’s procedures
