Details

The goal of this project was to improve the quality of Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (EmONC) in select First Referral Units (FRUs) through a combination of enhancement of skills of healthcare providers, emergency drills and improved referral networks. It used a quasi-experimental study design to compare the effectiveness & cost-effectiveness of this intervention in five taluk hospitals/community health centres against usual practice in another five facilities. This was implemented in partnership with the Karnataka Health Promotion Trust and the Government of Karnataka in the health facilities of Bagalkot, Koppal and Raichur districts in northern Karnataka.
