Consortium on vulnerability of externalizing disorders and addictions(c-VEDA)

Alcohol dependence and harmful use –associated with large proportion of non-communicable and several infective disorders, accounts for a disproportionately high share of the health burden in India and other low and middle income countries This increasing burden has often been linked to increased consumption in the population consequent to recent changes such as growing availability of alcohol, greater normalization of use, rapid changes in socio-economic conditions and other factors. The main objective of the study is to assess addictive behaviour, in adolescents and young adult members  and in parents of all subjects, both substance-based and behavioural, and carrying out a detailed behavioural characterization, with special emphasis on externalising behavior (temperament and disorders), as well as a clinical assessment.
