‘Life after death – the dead shall teach the living’- personal narratives of voluntary body donors for medical education
Details

The aim of this project is to understand the perceptions of people who have pledged their bodies after death for medical education through personal narratives and through a socio-cultural exploration.  There are numerous religious philosophies, cultural beliefs and practices around death and afterlife which need to be understood in the light of body donation and dissection. We feel that understanding these issues may ensure that medical students are able to better respect the dissection of cadavers and the choices that people make when they donate their bodies.
