Evaluation of a mHealth system for tracking Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) and temperature in southern India
Details

The objective of this project is to design, develop, deploy and test a remote biomonitoring mHealth architecture comprised of a wearable device plus a smartphone and backend analytics system that acts as a sensor, processor and actuator, and is therefore designed to identify critical parameters (KMC adherence and temperatures of mothers and newborn babies continuously), make intelligent diagnosis of abnormalities such as neonatal hypothermia, maternal/neonatal fever and non-adherence to KMC and then trigger audio or visual alerts (via the wearable or smartphone) for action by the family member or frontline healthcare worker to enhance KMC or referral to a health facility as needed.
