Brief Description about the Project:

  • To screen the children for developmental disorders with special reference to neurodevelopmental problems (Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Delay) by using placental data.
  • To understand the association of placental markers with developmental abnormalities in children

Key Skills:

  • Knowledge of typical developmental trajectory
  • Knowledge of basic tool used for Neurodevelopmental disorders in children aged 2-9 years
  • Communication with families
  • Documentation and organization skills
  • Team interaction, Collaboration, Co-ordination skills
  • Ethics especially confidentiality
  • Basic computer skills and maintaining e-records

Core Responsibilities:

  • Co-coordinating with different departments under this specific project
  • Maintaining the case records in the prescribed format
  • Domiciliary assessments of identified children (Driving skills appreciated through transport allowance is provided above salary for all such visits)
  • Clinical Examination of the child, which will include motor and cognitive/language assessments as part of developmental assessment/screening for autism.(will be trained)
  • Liaison to ensure a comprehensive assessment of screen positive children
  • Attending seminars and workshops
  • And all other duties as assigned by PI
  • Work in alignment with the goals of CAREADD

Specific Activities

  • Create a baseline follow-up register with contact numbers etc
  • Follow-up assessment of children at their residence with basic screening tools
  • Liaising with other research staff and other professionals as necessary and ensure the participant children get good care
  • Counselling families based on assessment findings
  • Documentation of the child’s history & assessment details and entering them into a system along with baseline data
  • Support Unit of Hope as and when necessary
