Brief Description about the Project:
- To screen the children for developmental disorders with special reference to neurodevelopmental problems (Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Delay) by using placental data.
- To understand the association of placental markers with developmental abnormalities in children
Key Skills:
- Knowledge of typical developmental trajectory
- Knowledge of basic tool used for Neurodevelopmental disorders in children aged 2-9 years
- Communication with families
- Documentation and organization skills
- Team interaction, Collaboration, Co-ordination skills
- Ethics especially confidentiality
- Basic computer skills and maintaining e-records
Core Responsibilities:
- Co-coordinating with different departments under this specific project
- Maintaining the case records in the prescribed format
- Domiciliary assessments of identified children (Driving skills appreciated through transport allowance is provided above salary for all such visits)
- Clinical Examination of the child, which will include motor and cognitive/language assessments as part of developmental assessment/screening for autism.(will be trained)
- Liaison to ensure a comprehensive assessment of screen positive children
- Attending seminars and workshops
- And all other duties as assigned by PI
- Work in alignment with the goals of CAREADD
Specific Activities
- Create a baseline follow-up register with contact numbers etc
- Follow-up assessment of children at their residence with basic screening tools
- Liaising with other research staff and other professionals as necessary and ensure the participant children get good care
- Counselling families based on assessment findings
- Documentation of the child’s history & assessment details and entering them into a system along with baseline data
- Support Unit of Hope as and when necessary
