Brief Description about the Project
This intervention trial focuses on bone mineral balance as an indicator of calcium flux into the bone in response to increased dietary calcium intake. By examining urinary calcium stable isotopes in children supplemented with 2 doses of calcium, this non-invasive method offers a field-friendly approach to estimate changes in bone mineral balance. The study aims to correlate urinary calcium isotope ratios with 3-day dietary calcium intake and other blood biomarkers for bone turnover, conducting longitudinal assessments across different calcium intake levels.
