Brief Description about the Project 

A study using the double-blind, crossover RCT design for treatment resistant schizophrenia using adjunctive acetazolamide, funded by the Stanley Medical Research Foundation. It utilises the Sequential Parallel Comparison Design to maximize the risk/benefit ratio, we will enrol inpatients and outpatients with treatment resistant schizophrenia. The primary outcome will be improvement in total symptom scores using the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS). Secondary outcomes include cognitive function, social function and weight.

Salary: Rs. 50,000/-pm

Preferred Qualifications: Any Professional master degree,

                                                MPhil (Clinical Psychology OR Psychiatric Social Work)

                                                Experience in work for research projects preferred

Language: English, Kannada, Hindi,Tamil.

Experience: Minimum experience of 2 years working in a research project/clinical trial

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • S/he will be responsible for coordinating the recruitment and assessment of all participants at St John’s.
  • As required s/he will keep track of the follow-up schedules, communicate with participants, SJMC authorities, IEC, and University of Pittsburgh. S/he will also carry out data entry as and when required       
  • S/he will perform administrative tasks of the project, including scheduling participants for study appointments and assessments, managing participant reimbursement, keeping study files and assisting with documentation paperwork as necessary.
