Brief Description about the Project

“Project entitled First-1000-Days of Life: Implementation Research for a District Model of Care in Karnataka, India."

This project aims to develop a model improving preconceptional care, care of the pregnant woman, intrapartum care, neonatal care and care of the infant in the first two years to meet the INAP targets in one district

Project Scientist C-Non Medical

Position Starting: 15th April, 2025

No. of Vacancy: one

Preferred Qualifications: MBBS/BDS with Masters in Public Health, Community Medicine, from a recognized University/Institute with minimum 3 years of experience 

Salary: Rs.85090/-

Language: 

  • Essential: English, Kannada
  • Desirable: Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, etc.

Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in research (or) programmatic experience with research orientation. Work in Maternal/Child Health projects desirable, surveillance activity research, including monitoring and supervision
  • Knowledge of computer applications and statistical packages

Location: Bangalore

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the research study and handle communication with State & District Health dept officials on regular basis
  • Coordinate the baseline situational assessment, community assessment and help in implementation of district-wide intervention package
  • Provide training, mentorship, and capacity-building to project staff, including nurses and community health workers.
  • Support MNH activities in the hospital and in the district.
  • Supervise and conduct surveillance activities, including monitoring and evaluation of project interventions.
  • Frequent travel to Karnataka districts for on-site training and supportive supervision
  • Analyze and interpret data related to maternal and child health outcomes, ensuring accurate reporting.
  • Help in developing training material, conducting literature search, data management, report writing and contribute to publications
  • Engage with local communities, stakeholders, and leaders to promote the project and raise awareness.
  • Manage project resources, budget, and overall administration, ensuring efficient project execution and compliance.
