Brief Description about the Project
- This is a multi-centre study initiated by ICMR with our centre being one of the participating centres. This study is about women who suffer from recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (RVVC). This study is about understanding the antifungal drugs that can and cannot be used, how vaginal bacteria/fungi act, genetic and immune factors in women with RVVC. This study will be carried out on women in the reproductive age group (18-45 years). Blood and vaginal swabs will be collected. All women will be followed up till one year. There will be co-ordinators from the Departments of Dermatology and Gynaecology for recruitment of subjects.

Preferred Qualifications: Three years degree - BSc – MLT/ medical microbiology / general Microbiology + one year experience in relevant subject
Experience: Fresh graduates can also can apply
At least a one year experience in the above mentioned techniques in Mycology is preferred
Age Limit: 28 years
Language: English and South Indian vernacular at least
Salary: Rs.23,400/- per month
Location: Bengaluru
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Processing and storage of samples received, and maintenance of laboratory records include quality control procedure
- Culture and identification of fungi (Candida species)
- Antifungal susceptibility testing methods ·
- Processing of Blood samples for component separation
- Molecular work
- Obtain clinical details of patients recruited
- Assist in carrying out research activities pertaining to Mycology
- Data entry and Correspondence with ICMR
