Brief Description about the Project 

The Center has twin tracks. The clinical track explores structured early clinical intervention protocols and developing case identification methods that can be upscaled into public health systems. The Research track involves evaluations of the above while also understanding the biological underpinnings of Autism.

Research Associate (Neurobiology)

Position Starting: 01st December 2022

No. of Vacancy: One

Salary: Rs.60,000/-+10% HRA

(To be enhanced after a probationary period to the satisfaction of the core team of CARE-ADD. Those with master’s degrees and exceptional achievements will qualify for higher starting salary. Higher salary will be especially considered for those who are willing to formally agree to stay through project extensions as they occur. Longer term academic pursuits from within CARE-ADD would be one of the criteria that will be used to determine remuneration over time.)

Language: English and Knowledge of at least one more Indian language is desirable

Experience: Minimum Experience of 1 year post Ph.D. required, in exceptional cases freshers may also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:  Ph.D./M.D or equivalent in neuroscience and related fields and prior knowledge on mitochondrial biology.                                                 

 Location: Bangalore, Karnataka

Roles Responsibilities:

  • Design and perform research study in relevance to Autism and other brain functionality study.
  • Support Research activity at CAREADD and training JRF and SRF on specific methodology.
  • Develop blood based mitochondrial assay and eventually of clinical application as diagnostics value
  • Understand and define imaging based analysis for early diagnosis of autism/ Inborn errors of Metabolism/ mitochondrial defects from the CAREADD clinical data
  • Development of cell system using alternative biological samples and use thereof to understand the biological questions around autism,
  • Should be ready to collaborative to work across the departments in SJRI and other clinical departments
  • Writing and helping with national and international proposal
  • Documentation of data, Data analysis, data reporting for clinical use
  •  Present and publish in national and international forums
  • Co-ordinating team meetings conferences
  • Participation in training activities, including preparation of teaching/learning materials
