Research Medical Officer – SJGC-SKAN Study Project

Brief Description about the Project:

The SOHAM cohort study will recruit persons aged 40 years and above from rural and urban areas in Bangalore. Baseline parameters will be assessed and they will be followed up for a period of 5-10 years to look at outcomes related to successful aging.

Research Medical Officer

Position Starting: 01st April, 2023

No. of Vacancy: One

Duration: 60 months

Employment status: Contract

Language: English, Kannada, Hindi,

Salary: Rs. 67,000-/-pm                       

Preferred Qualifications: MD in any speciality (Preference for community medicine) / Post graduate qualification in Medical or Health research

Experience: Candidates who have recently completed their postgraduate degree could apply. Past experience, if any, will be an added advantage.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Will work under the direction of the Principal Investigator, SOHAM Cohort study and the steering committee of the study.
  • Leading training and orientation sessions for technical and support staff for the study.
  • Planning, organising and implementing the study procedures and methods with the study team, including travel to field locations and conducting medical screening and other study related processes.
  • Recording and reporting on all study related processes as required by relevant regulatory authorities and the study leadership team.
  • Participating in all study related meetings and programs with reporting responsibilities as advised by the study leadership.
  • Preparing manuscripts for publication and presentation as required from time to time.
  • Any other study related tasks as may be communicated by the study leadership from time to time.
