Training on Database Management for Research Studies

Workshop Objective

A vast amount of research is carried out by faculty, staff and students in health research. As part of the research huge amounts of information / data are collected. Appropriate management of database is an important aspect of research.
This training aims to provide the participants appropriate knowledge and competence to comprehensively understand database management, starting from the do’s and don’ts while creating questionnaires /CRF’s for the re-search, to choosing a suitable database platform, such as Excel, Epi data, EPIINFO etc, to enter data collected from research studies/ thesis and suita-bly preparing for analysis.

Organization and Delivery

Course faculty will be from St. John’s Research Institute and St. John’s Medical College. All course material will be provided.

Who should attend

This workshop is primarily planned for faculty and postgraduate medical/allied health sciences students, PhD students (in any life sciences), post-doctorates and others associated with health research. Database templates will be provided for all participants. These templates can be used to prepare their data sets.
