A longitudinal study of progression of developmental milestones in 2-year-old children till 5 years of age from Bangalore, India

This project aims to chart the development trajectory of psychomotor and social development and executive abilities in 400 healthy urban children from Bangalore, beginning at 2 years of age through their pre-school years till they attain the age of 5 years. In the initial part of the study, norms are being developed for various tools that are used in the study to assess various developmental domains. The longitudinal design of the study with periodic assessments every 6 months will permit us to examine the various maternal, child including nutritional status and home factors that influence the ongoing psychomotor and social development of children in their pre-school years.
