The proposal seeks to develop an international collaboration for research on nephrotic syndrome, the most common cause of chronic renal disease in children. The main aim is to set up a biorepository at participating institutions with common standard operating procedures. The collaboration will help us to utilise world-leading initiatives in both biological techniques and application to stratified patient cohorts, to build appropriate and usable parallel research capabilities in LMICs. The collected data and biological samples can be used for future research to increase our knowledge of Nephrotic Syndrome and identify biomarkers that may contribute to Nephrotic Syndrome. This will also lead to transfer of knowledge and skills to partner countries to set up parallel cohorts. The collaboration will provide a better clinical data and appropriate samples which can be accessed in future for further research purposes.
