Fast tracking Bangalore's response to HIV through a pilot community-led testing model, the first in India
Details

The Division of Medical Informatics in collaboration with Division of Infectious Diseases and Swasti Health Resource Centre is piloting a community-led testing model for HIV testing. This pilot is named MITHR and will be implemented in Bangalore. This pilot will test high risk populations in community for HIV with the help of trained outreach workers (ORWs). A mobile app developed will guide ORWs in pre, post-test counselling and testing process. The ultimate goal is reaching the 90-90-90 target using evidence and grounded strategy so key populations have access to testing, understanding their results, and entitlements built to reduce vulnerability and prevent further transmission.
