A pilot study to understand the ethical complexities with CHIM (Controlled Human Infection Model) studies and the need for public engagement
Details
The primary objectives of the study include:
To understand the perceptions of a cross section of the public towards CHIM studies and evaluate the dichotomy in perceptions between researchers and the public
To develop an understanding of how ‘health risk’ is perceived by different groups of people
To explore willingness to participate in a CHIM and thus arrive at who can be a volunteer in a CHIM study and tentative criteria for the selection protocols for volunteer recruitment.
