The aim of this project is to understand the role of miRNAs in fetal growth restriction associated dysregulation of human placental angiogenesis.
The research question being addressed:
> Is dysregulated placental angiogenesis mediated by microRNA expression associated with fetal growth restriction in the South Indian population?
> Findings from the current study are likely to provide better understanding of the role of placental miRNAs in precipitating fetal growth restriction in the Indian population. Further identification of modifiable lifestyle factors that are associated with dysregulation of these placental miRNAs will potentially lead to improvement in maternal and neonatal health by reducing the incidence of fetal growth restriction in this high-risk population.
