Storytelling and story building can be used as tools to develop insights into multiple perspectives of a single phenomenon or experience based on a process of immersion into the personalities/ events/ circumstances / emotions / thoughts involved. This sensitise them to the needs of people and helps them:
•Understand the ‘other’: by writing a story for another person, the storyteller walks in the shoes of the ‘other’. The construction of a story forces them to view other people’s lives.
•Understand moral issues that individuals face as well as broader societal issues such as equity and social justice.
•Understand structural issues related to healthcare
Through this study we wish to understand if the above are achieved, what more are the lessons learnt and how stories as a structured learning tool can be used
