Brief Description about the Project
- To screen the children for developmental disorders with special reference to neurodevelopmental problems (Autism Spectrum Disorder and Developmental Delay) by using placental data / other baseline data.
- To understand the association of placental markers with developmental abnormalities in children
Nurse Research Fellow
Position Starting: 15th July 2022

Salary: Rs.25,000/-pm (To be enhanced after a probationary period to the satisfaction of the core team of CARE-ADD. Those with master’s degrees and exceptional achievements will qualify for higher starting salary. Higher salary will be especially considered for those who are willing to formally agree to stay through project extensions as they occur. Longer term academic pursuits from within CARE-ADD would be one of the criteria that will be used to determine remuneration over time.)
Language: English, Kannada. (Knowledge of at least one more Indian language is desirable)
Experience: Minimum Experience of 1 year required Exceptions possible for good candidates.
Preferred Qualifications: B.Sc or M.Sc in Nursing

Roles Responsibilities:
- Co-ordinating with different departments under this specific project.
- Maintaining the case records in the prescribed format.
- Domiciliary assessments of identified children (Driving skills appreciated though transport allowance is provided above salary for all such visits).
- Clinical Examination of the child, which will include motor and cognitive/language assessments as part of developmental assessment/screening for autism. (Will be trained).
- Liaison to ensure a comprehensive assessment of screen positive children.
- Create a baseline follow-up register with contact numbers etc
- Follow-up assessment of children at their residence with basic screening tools
- Liaising with other research staff and other professionals as necessary and ensure the participant children get good care
- Counselling families based on assessment findings
- Documentation of the child’s history & assessment details and entering them into a system along with baseline data
- Support Unit of Hope as and when necessary
- Attending seminars and workshops
- And all other duties as assigned by PI.
