Brief Description about the Project:

Development and evaluation of effectiveness of improved take home foods in combination with behaviour change intervention to improve nutritional status in children in selected districts of six states of India: A Cluster Randomized Controlled Trial (The NECCTAR trial).

We are seeking a Project Scientist to join our research team, to work both at SJRI and at our research field site (Shivamogga).

Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Nutrition/Public Health

Experience: Minimum experience of 3 years.

Experience in

  • Project management and leading a team.
  • Good technical, analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with strong written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and lead a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Attention to detail, time management, systematic work approach.
  • Liaising with Institutional Review Boards, and other regulatory, academic, and governmental institutions would be given preference.
  • Working in statistical programming software, such as SPSS, SAS and/or R, is desirable.

Preferred Language: English, Kannada, Hindi

Location: Bangalore

Salary: Rs.67000+30% (Rs. 87100/-)

Roles & Responsibilities:

The candidate will be responsible for overall coordination of the research, operation, data management, laboratory and regulatory activities of the research project at SJRI as well as at the field site in Shivamogga.

Key duties include:

  • Responsible for coordination of daily research activities and project logistics.
  • Responsible for developing research manuscripts, reviews, and grant submissions to funding agencies.
  • Provide technical guidance on coordination of research projects, including coordination and updating of study-specific documentation, as well as collaboration with team members on the development of research protocols, submission of manuscripts and regulatory submissions to Institutional Review Boards
  • Responsible for submission of reports to funding organizations.
  • The position will involve traveling to and staying at the Shivamogga field site as required.
