Nutrition Research Course to Translate and Utilize Research Findings into Practice – 'NURTURE'

The Division of Nutrition, St. John’s Research Institute (SJRI), Bengaluru, in collaboration with the ICMR- National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) and Nutrition Society of India (NSI) is planning to conduct a two-week Public Health Nutrition course titled - "Nutrition Research Course to Translate and Utilize Research Findings into Practice – NURTURE” at SJRI, from August 21st July to 1st August 2025. 

The course objectives are:

  • Nurture Critical Thinking: To foster analytical and critical thinking skills to formulate evidence-based solutions.

  • Uphold Ethics: Demonstrate awareness of ethical principles in nutrition research and practice, ensuring integrity and accountability.

  • Reinforce Interdisciplinary Learning: Encourage integration of knowledge across disciplines for a holistic understanding.

  • Translate Research: Translate research findings into practical recommendations for public health interventions and policies.

  • Upgrade Professional Competence: Continuously enhance professional skills through hands-on experience, mentorship, and reflective learning.

  • Respond to Public Health Needs: Prepare to respond proactively to nutrition-related public health challenges, emergencies, and policy demands in India.

  • Engage with Communities: Promote community engagement and participatory approaches to co-design effective and sustainable nutrition interventions.

Who can apply:

Doctoral students and young faculty in academia, state institutes, government program implementers, and members of non-governmental organizations with a strong commitment to research, program implementation, and building capacity in the parent institution and across India.
 

Key Dates to Note:

Course dates: 21st July to 01st August 2025.

Application opens on: 01st June 2025.

Last date to submit the application: 25th June 2025.

Selected Candidates will be notified on: 01st July 2025.

Course Fees: There is no course fee.
 

Accommodation and Travel:

Accommodation will be provided at St. John’s campus and travel expenses will be covered*.

 *Details regarding accommodation and travel reimbursement will be provided to selected participants.
